Conclusion

This is the cheapest option for a factory rifle chambered in 22 Creedmoor on the market (at the time of writing this). I wanted to provide some insight as to how well a budget rifle can perform in this cartridge using quality components because I have fallen in love with this cartridge and I’d love to see it excel outside of the realm of handloaders. As you’ll see in this article/video, this cartridge can be exceptionally accurate, even with a budget rifle and a budget shooter.

I would highly recommend the Ruger American Gen II in 22 Creedmoor to anyone who is looking to get into the coyote hunting or just the fast 22 caliber cartridges in general. It has proven itself to me and I will not be letting go of this rifle anytime soon for this exact reason.

Did you notice all of your overall lengths were quite a bit under the max case overall length published by Hornady(2.700”)? I have had the same experience. I have the Weatherby 307 in 22 Creedmoor, and I can’t seat my bullets any longer than about 2.550”overall length before my bullets are jammed into the lands. I’m shooting the 68 grain Hornady BTHP projectiles.

Yes! I definitely had plenty of space left in the magazine with all the different bullets that I tried in this test. This rifle doesn’t have a very long throat. That’s for sure.
