Test Protocol

This is a test that I put together to test the reliability and accuracy of two very similar .22lr AR platforms. The Tippmann Arms M4-22 MICRO Compact Pistol and the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Pistol. In this video, we test a variety of .22lr factory ammunition. Shooting roughly 25 yards with a full 25 round magazine using the same ammunition in each gun, and in the same order of firing. We also tracked the number of malfunctions that each gun had with each type of ammo.

This way, we can compare the accuracy and reliability of each platform side by side with one-another. The ultimate goal is to see if one of these pistols is dramatically more accurate or reliable than the other.

Conclusion

The results for each obviously differed, but ultimately, they actually had the exact same amount of total malfunctions. The accuracy wasn’t really fair to track considering the front sight came loose on the Tippmann, and there is no telling how early or late that began. So, we didn’t measure groups to compare, but you can clearly see in the video roughly about how they performed.
